RiskBeacon
RiskBeacon is a signal-driven hedge timing tool. You build the rules, we tell you when and what to fire.
If the VIX spikes over 30 → Buy this put spread.
If the VX Futures are in backwardation AND VVIX is over 100 → Short UVXY.
Advanced users can create signal-dependent hedges, tailoring the hedge type to the scenario.
The Flow
This is the path through the tabs:
1Beacon Library — Pick which Beacons to use. See each Beacon’s current level and history so you can set thresholds and evaluate behavior.
2Hedge Targets — See all available hedge types: what they are, when they’re useful, and sizing guidance. You map Beacon combos to these (e.g. if contango spikes and VIX is low → this hedge; if contango spikes and VIX is high → that hedge).
3Finalize Beacon — Set weighting across Beacons, whether to fire when you already have hedges on, and other parameters. Backtesting will plug in here when the engine is ready.
4Active Beacons — The rules you've created. Each beacon shows its Beacons' current levels and the composite "how close to firing" score.
5Active Hedges — Positions that resulted from a RiskBeacon rule firing.
Beacon Library
The Beacon Library is our curated set of volatility and options surface indicators. Select which ones are most indicative for your use case, and set a threshold for alerts. Each Beacon or combination of Beacons maps to a Target, which is your recommended hedge.
Hedge Targets
Hedge Targets are the recommended trades to place when a Beacon crosses a threshold. These can be futures, options, or underlying stock trades to mitigate risk.
Monitoring
When you finalize your parameters, Beacons move into the Active Beacons tab. Here you’ll be able to track all your signals, and monitor their relative levels.
For advanced strategies with multiple Beacons, we create a composite score to give a single indicator for how close that Beacon is to firing.
Finalize Beacon
Review your configuration and save your strategy. Once saved, the trade manager will monitor these signals every 5 minutes and send you an alert when conditions are met.
Active Beacons
Rules and beacons you’ve created. Each shows individual Beacon levels and the composite “how close to firing” score.
Active Hedges
Positions created when a RiskBeacon fired. The trade manager updates prices and P&L every 5 minutes and auto-closes on expiration or stop-loss.
